Hometown of the Mojo Isleño (a sauce prepared with spices, onions and tomatoes used with fish, seafood and fried plantains), Salinas is a great place to try the local fritters. There are a variety of small kiosks and restaurants along the coast or on Rt 701.

Camp Santiago Training Site.
Cobra helicopter, F-16, tanks and cannons outside the museum. Inside you will find weapons and artifacts from the Spanish era (including pirate weapons) up to the present day.
This racetrack is approved by the NHRA and is one of the top raceways in the U.S. It consists of two straight tracks (1/4 and 1/8 mile) and two circuit tracks (1.2 and 1.8 mile).

Traditional carnival. Daytime and evening festivities, parades, floats, costumes, live music, local food, and a carnival queen contest. The region is well known for its seafood restaurants and dishes.
Salinas, also known as the Pueblo del Mojo Isleño, town of the "Island's Mojo" (mojo is a sauce typically used on fish plates; it has a tomato base with lots of onion, green and red pepper).

Estuarine Reserve with forest-salt flat and kayak trails, information center and museum. Guided tours to hiking trails for 10 or more people can be coordinated prior to arrival. Kayak and boat rentals are not available.

Nestled in an old sugar plantation. A popular nine-hole course, it is a favorite of many golfers and known as a challenging round, even for expert players, who will enjoy views of mountains and the sea. Holes/Yards: 9/6185.
