Here you will find typical red a black casitas, small houses that where given to the firemen as a appreciation of there voluntary service in the Ponce Municipal Fire Department.
The anchor for the historic district of Ponce. This beautiful cathedral stands in the central plaza of Ponce among historic fountains and mature landscape. The back of the cathedral adjoins the original Ponce firehouse (Parque de Bombas).

Beautiful, restored 19th century coffee plantation just north of Ponce. Part of the network of historic sites under the care of the Conservation Trust. Food and drink prohibited. Reservations required.
Atop El Vigía Hill, where scouts once scanned for attacking ships, this 100-ft observation tower gives you a dramatic view of the coastline. Just a short walk to Castillo Serrallés.
This was once the home of Antonio Paoli, known as the King of Puerto Rican tenors. Currently on exhibit are documents and memorabilia from this well known singer.

This colonial mansion designed in 1911 by its original owner, the architect Alfredo Wiechers, and built by Elias Concepción represents social aspects of its time. Exhibits of furniture, photos and examples of Ponce's early 20th century buildings.

This spectacular event presented by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, is held alternate years in Ponce and San Juan. Over 150,000 people attend. Culture, history, food, arts, crafts, music as well as representatives from municipalities, inns, hotels and major attractions.
Honoring outstanding Puerto Rican track and field trainer Frankie Colón, this twenty-event competition gathers top runners from the U.S. mainland, Latin America and the Caribbean.
In the midst of bateyes, ancient ceremonial plazas and a rich collection of archaeological riches, several jicoteas (Taíno for land turtle) are on display.

Held every year on December 12 at 5am. A religious procession led by mariachis singing songs in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the city's patron saint. The lead song is the traditional Mexican birthday song "Las Mañanitas." After a mass held at the Cathedral located in Plaza Las Delicias, a "peoples" breakfast is held, while the Mariachi play typical mexican music. Many mexicans, some that travel to Ponce, others that live in the city, dress and dance their traditional music in the Plaza.

A traditional carnival and one of the most important events in Puerto Rico. It's the oldest celebrated on the Island. The 152st event will be held in February 2010. Always ends on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, a Catholic tradition.

A week of events to commemorate the "danza" and one of its most prolific composers (Juan Morel Campos). This popular turn-of-the-century ballroom dance originated in Ponce and is slightly similar to the waltz. Conferences, "danzas" and a concert by string quartets, a parade, a "danza" competition, and demonstrations by senior couples who dress up as they used to in the 19th century. The main event is a concert offered by the Ponce Municipal Band.
