On the main plaza, this unique and legendary tree is known for its beautiful shell-shaped white, yellow and red flowers. Its fruit looks like a cannonball, hence the name bala de cañón.

From the beach side, the rock cliff looks like the bust of the Chief Cacique Mabodomaca. Legend has it that he jumped into the sea from the cliff to avoid capture by the Spaniards. The chief's medallion was lost & is still sought along this cliff.

This is a small open-air chapel at the southern end of Cristo St. Legend has it that the chapel celebrates a miracle that prevented a boy and his horse from plunging off the city wall. The truth, however, is that the horse and rider both fell to their deaths and the chapel was built to assure that this type of accident would not happen again. The chapel contains a number of museum-quality religious artifacts.

Discovered in the beginning of the 20th century, this is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Caribbean. It consists of 10 ceremonial bateyes (ball fields) of varying sizes dating back to 1200 AD. It has a small museum and petroglyphs that were carved by the Taíno Indians.
